Do you have this charger? Return it as soon as possible – the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection is alerting you

Faulty electronics is no joke, especially with chargers, whose faulty designs can lead to excessive power consumption, heating and even a fire in our home. As a result of detecting such a defect in one of the devices offered in Poland, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection issued an order to withdraw it from sale.

According to the office, it is a charger iPower B3+ (EAN: 5901698443276), which is used to charge batteries and was distributed by Krakman P. Kiepura, K. Michalik sp.k. based in Kraków. It turns out that the device does not meet several key requirements regarding electronics, and its use may pose a danger.

Which requirements are not met? The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection stated that the charger:

  • has an incorrect design of the power cord connector
  • has insufficient insulation between the windings of the isolation transformer
  • has too small insulation gaps
  • due to defects, it poses a risk of electric shock to the user

The charger, priced at approximately PLN 70, was offered on two websites selling military accessories and gadgets – www.taiwangun.pl and taiwangun.biz.

The company has been ordered to withdraw the product from the market and its users should stop using the charger as soon as possible. Objections to the equipment are so serious that its continued connection to the electrical grid may have serious consequences – including pose a threat to the health and life of users.

Customers who have a charger should inform the store where they made the purchase.
