Do you own a Nothing Phone? Now you can enjoy an exclusive feature from Google

  • Circle to search allows you to search according to what is happening on the screen
  • The feature has been available for almost a year now, but for a long time it was exclusive to Samsung and Google
  • It is gradually being distributed to other devices, most recently the Nothing Phone

When Google and Samsung announced the Circle to search feature less than a year ago, quite a few users were disappointed. This great gadget has been available for a long time exclusively for Google Pixel and Samsung phones. But now Circle to search is gradually being released for other phones, most recently for the Nothing Phone.

The feature is available for Phone (2), Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus, as reported community forum Nothing. To be able to use the function, you need to have one of the mentioned phones and the current version of the system. You can find the system version in Settings → About phone → Software information (tap the phone image) → Build number.

Verify that you have the required version, or update your phone. If you still don’t see the feature, try restarting your phone.

Telephone Minimum system version
Phone (2) PONG-V3.0-241207-0124
Phone (2a) Pacman-V3.0-241210-2057
Phone (2a) Plus PacmanPro-v3.0-241126-1448 (Beta)

You enable the function in Settings → Special features → Gestures → Navigation mode → Circle to search. There are two methods to invoke it depending on the navigation method. If you use 3-button navigation, long press the Home button. If you use gestures, long press the navigation bar. The navigation bar must not be hidden.
