91-year-old actress and Soviet film star Tatyana Doronina has been living in a nursing home for two years. As reported by “Express newspaper“with reference to her friend, artist Lydia Matasova, Doronina does not communicate with anyone and almost does not go out.
According to Matasova, Doronina communicates with an extremely limited circle, rarely answers phone calls and categorically does not want to communicate with journalists. “She’s so comfortable. She doesn’t contact anyone by phone now,” Matasova noted. According to her, Doronina is visited by her assistant, and sometimes a make-up artist comes. She herself asks them to buy something to eat or bring documents. At the same time, Doronina maintains clarity of mind and is well aware of everything that is happening around her, Matasova added.
She confirmed that the actress’s legs hurt after Covid and it’s very difficult for her to walk.
Let us remember that Doronina played in the films “My Elder Sister”, “Three Poplars on the Ivy”, “Once More About Love”, “Stepmother”. In 1987, she headed the Moscow Art Theater. Since then, she has often been accused of making questionable decisions, and the repertoire she approved has been criticized. Critics claimed that because of her, the Moscow Art Theater lost viewers. In 2018, Doronina was fired from her position as artistic director and made president of the theater. However, in 2022, the actress’s health deteriorated and she had to move to a nursing home.
