Donald Trump, an American saga – Americas

On June 16, 2015, Donald John Trump descended the imposing escalator in the main lobby of Trump Tower to announce his candidacy for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination. As everything indicated that this same nomination was intended for Jeb Bush, it was not unreasonable to think that it was another publicity stunt from a man of recognized talent to attract media attention. If Trump’s political experience was limited, the substantial personal baggage he carried prevented him from being a credible alternative to Bush. It will be said that, almost a decade later, Trump, for good and bad reasons, has become a titan of American politics, decisively shaping the country’s political agenda. Even in the Biden-Harris years, much of the political discussion took place around Trump: his businesses, his scandals, his enmities, his dominance of the Republican Party and his struggles with justice. He is obviously not a consensual man. But he is still a striking political figure.

To instill some discipline in Donald Trump, his father enrolled him at the New York Military Academy
