President-elect Donald Trump has announced that his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, will serve as White House chief of staff when he takes office, according to CNN. She will be the first woman to fill the role.
“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the biggest political victories in American history and has been an integral part of my successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns. Susie is tough, smart, innovative and universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to make America Great Again. It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt he will make our country proud,” Trump said in a statement released Thursday.
Wiles is one of Trump’s longest-serving advisers. During the election campaign, she introduced discipline, experts believe. They also claim that before accepting the position Wiles set certain conditions, the main element being control over the names of people who can reach the Oval Office. During Trump’s first term, his chiefs of staff struggled to prevent the frequent entry into the president’s office of occasional advisers, relatives and friends.
President Donald Trump won the November 5 presidential election by a landslide. He will take up his mandate in January.
