While attending MMA fights is nothing new for Trump, who has attended others in the past, Saturday’s visit marked his first appearance since winning the presidential election.
Shortly before 10:00 p.m. ET (5:00 a.m. Sunday), Trump entered the New York arena alongside UFC CEO Dana White, who was a close ally of the president-elect during the campaign his 2024 election.
He was followed by Elon Musk, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., his son, Donald Trump Jr., and singer Kid Rock.
Earlier this week, Trump appointed Kennedy to head the Department of Health. Musk was also appointed to lead the new Department of Government Efficiency.
The American Jon Jones, the star of mixed martial arts (MMA), retained his title of UFC heavyweight champion, defeating his compatriot Stipe Miocic by KO, on Saturday night in New York, under the gaze of Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States United.
Aged 37, Jones made a much-anticipated return to New York, after postponing his fight with Miocic for a year due to a torn pectoral muscle and elbow surgery.
Stipe Miocic (42 years old), a former glory of MMA, gave up his retirement to face Jon Jones, who on this occasion made his 28th victory in 29 fights.
