Domestic. Sweden will spend another 4.6 billion kroner on the war in Ukraine, the government announced at a press conference on Monday.

With support package number 17 in the order, Sweden has contributed 48.1 billion kroner in military support to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion of the country began in February 2022.

In 2024 alone, Sweden has contributed a total of 25 billion in military support.

Sweden has previously sent 50 combat vehicles 90 to Ukraine, and a procurement will now take place for additional 40 mm ammunition for these combat vehicles for delivery to Ukraine.

Ukraine has specifically requested anti-tank weapons and anti-tank mines to better operate against Russian mechanized units. The package therefore also includes a number of anti-tank shots, grenade launchers and tank mines.

Another six combat boat 90 including a marine supply solution that will support the Ukrainian navy’s maintenance unit to create endurance for the Swedish material is also included.

In order to be able to launch different types of boats after maintenance measures on land, two launching trailers that can handle several different types of boats, including combat boat 90, are also handed over.

How the gifts affect the Swedish defense capability was not touched upon by the government during the press conference.
