According to the statement made by the Provincial Police Department, Anti-Immigrant Smuggling and Border Gates Branch Directorate teams continued their work against immigrant smuggling.
In this context, the teams stopped a bus in Tuşba district upon suspicion and during their search, they found that there was a secret compartment under the back seats.
46 MIGRANTS WERE CAUGHT
The teams caught 25 irregular immigrants in the secret compartment, who were found to have entered the dormitory illegally.
The teams searched the bed of the truck, which was stopped at the enforcement point in Edremit district, and determined that there were 21 irregular immigrants hiding behind household items.
6 SUSPECTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
A judicial investigation was launched against 6 suspects who were detained on charges of “immigrant smuggling” related to 2 incidents, and a vehicle was seized.
Irregular immigrants will be handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management for deportation after the procedures at the Police Department.
