Dark Tranquility is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg. They are considered one of the pioneers and fathers of the so-called Gothenburg metal scene, together with bands like In Flames and At the Gates, which was discussed in the documentary film “Out of Nothing: A DT Documentary”, published by Century Mediaand was recorded in their hometown in April 2009.
The band was founded in 1989 by then guitarist and current vocalist Mikael Stanne and guitarist Niklas Sundin under the name Septic Broiler. In the early stages of their creation, their sound had a strong thrash undertone, which many compare to the early works of Death. At that time, the band was joined by Anders Fridén, today known as the vocalist of In Flames, with whom they recorded their debut album Skydancer. Since then, the band has released 12 more albums. Their latest, „Endtime Signals“was released in August 2024 for Century Media, and will be promoting it on this occasion at Hangar. This album features bassist Christian Jansson and drummer Joakim Strandberg Nilsson for the first time, while all the lyrics were written by vocalist Mikael Stanne. In addition to the aforementioned, the band consists of Johan Reinholdz on guitar and Martin Brändström on keyboards.
Moonspell was founded in 1992 in the suburbs of Lisbon and has become one of the most recognizable names in European metal. The Portuguese gothic metal visionaries presented themselves to the world with an EP „Under the Moonspell“ (1994, Adipocere Records) and the legendary debut for Century Media, the album „Wolfheart“ from 1995. Their next album, „Irreligious“ (1996, Century Media), raised the band to a higher level of global recognition. Since then, Moonspell hasn’t stopped touring and making new music, maintaining a loyal fan base on all five continents. In 2021, they released their 12th album, „Hermitage“ (2021, Napalm Records), which critics and audiences declared one of the best albums of that year. The band today consists of: Fernando Ribeiro (vocals), Pedro Paixão (keyboards, guitar), Ricardo Amorim (guitar, backing vocals), Aires Pereira (bass) and Hugo Ribeiro (drums).
Hiraes is a German melodic death metal band from Osnabrik, founded in 2020. The band consists of former members of Dawn of Disease and Britta Görtz, former singer of Critical Mess. The name of the band comes from the Welsh word “hiraeth”, which means nostalgia. So far they have released two albums: „Solitary“ (2021) i „Dormant“ (2024), who will promote on this occasion. Both albums were released on Napalm Records.>
