The criticized record system Millennium, which was introduced by the care in the Västra Götaland region this week, is not adapted for the complex operation. The project was doomed to failure.

That’s what Johan Magnusson, professor of information systems at the University of Gothenburg, says.

– I understand everyone who cries about this, he says to P4 Sjuhärad.

Magnusson was himself involved in the Millennium project when it started in 2017, but chose to drop out.

– Then we said: This is the wrong road. It will never succeed, we have pursued that kind of project before. “Here are ten things that will go to hell,” says Johan Magnusson to GP.

– Directly counterproductive, he says.

It was on Tuesday that the system began to be put into use in parts of the region’s care operations. The launch has been marred by a series of technical problems, employee protests and concerns about patient safety.
