Ducati: Marquez earned a factory seat with a perfect attitude

Ducati was the manufacturer that everyone else wanted to win during 2024, with only Maverick Viñales securing victory on another bike.

Francesco Banjaya, Jorge Martin and Mark Marquez stood out, while Enea Bastianini showed that he can be extremely strong.

“We are really proud of the results of our teams and drivers,” said Davide Tardoci summarizing the first half of the season.

“Jorge Martin and Peko Banjaja are really great, but we have second and third Ducatis like Marco Marquez and Bastianini.”

“As a company, we are extremely proud of the work of our engineers and teams.”

While Ducati were close to invincibility, their riders were not without mistakes, as both Banjaja and Martin fell out of winning positions.

Tardoci talked about it and said that the lessons learned will only make them stronger: “I don’t want to refer to lack of luck and mistakes. Mostly Barcelona and Peko know that well.”

“Anyway, he’s a champion and he put this behind him and the next day he wasn’t crying, he was winning.”

“Having said that, I think that Peko has the hardest time with himself after the mistakes. We learned a lot from those mistakes and he continues to develop.”

“He is a two-time world champion, but he is still working on himself to improve in those aspects that are a matter of concentration.”

“In Barcelona he was already too sure of victory. Sometimes you have to concentrate until the very end.”
Banjaja will have a new teammate next season in the form of Marco Marques.

The six-time MotoGP champion’s performances since joining Ducati have been stellar, but his attitude off the track also impressed the Italian manufacturer before they decided to bring him to the factory team.

“I think Mark has the right attitude. He never asked for us to have something more and unless Djidji Dalinja gave him something.”

“He showed us the perfect attitude and that’s why he will be a driver in the factory team in 2025.”
