Ducati revealed the Panige V2 and Streetfighter V2 at the EICMA show

Ducati presented two new models with a V2 engine at the EICMA fair in Milan. They are Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2.

In the Panigale V2, the new engine, which Ducati recently revealed, produces 118 hpand in addition, we have a maximum torque of 94 Nm. The new unit should be much more usable on the road, producing 70 percent of that figure at just 3,000 rpm.

It is also a very light engine, weighing in at 54.5 kg. That represents a weight loss of 9.4kg over the old V-twin (ie L-twin as Ducati calls it), contributing to a total weight reduction of 17kg on the Panigale V2 S. To makes a weight figure of 176 kg, making it the lightest motorcycle ever to bear the Panigale name.

The chassis setup depends on the version you buy. The base Panigale V2 uses Marzocchi upside-down forks and a KYB mono-shock, both fully adjustable, while the Panigale V2 S switches them to an Ohlins front and rear layout, while also switching the lead-acid battery to a lighter lithium-ion unit.

Another novelty of the EICMA fair in Milan is the Streetfighter V2which brings 118 HP and 94 Nm of maximum torque.

Plus, 70 percent of that figure is available at just 3,000rpm, so the new twin should still feel plenty of guts, not to mention better suited for road driving. The engine is also 9.4kg lighter compared to the old Superquadro unit, which contributes total weight reduction of 17.5 kg.

As for the chassis, what you get depends on whether you opt for the base Streetfighter V2 or step up to the Streetfighter V2 S. The former gets a fully adjustable Marzocchi inverted fork and a fully adjustable KYM monoshock, while the S variant gets Ohlins NIX-30s. fork and rear shock absorber of the same company. The S variant also gets a lighter lithium battery and is a standard single-seater, with a “passenger kit” available as an option.

Both versions have a Brembo braking system with M50 monobloc calipersplus Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires size 120/70/17 front and 19/55/17 rear. Keeping things under control is an electronics package powered by a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) including cornering ABS, traction control, wheel control, launch control, pit speed limiter and engine braking control.
