Dune: Part Two is one of the best films of this decade. It has a high rating of 88% on the ČSFD portal, and most critics liked the film. The third part has been officially announced, but we will have to wait quite a long time for it. Fortunately, the miniseries Dune: The Prophecy will be released in the interim, and HBO has announced a month of planned premieres.

New Duna already in autumn

The new Dune series will arrive on the HBO Max streaming service in November. The miniseries Dune: The Prophecy will take place 10,000 years before the first film and will be inspired by the 2012 book novella The Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, as informs The Verge.

The series will take place in the period of the creation of the Bene Gesserit secret order, which influences the fate of the entire galaxy with its intrigues. The members of this group possess extraordinary physical and psychological abilities that make them feared opponents in battle.

Emphasis on politics

In the series, we will enjoy a lot of politicking and see exactly how this order can influence events throughout the known universe of Dune. As for the cast, only a few names are known so far, namely Emily Watson and Olivia Williams. They will be played by the two Harkonnen sisters who founded the Bene Gesserit. This miniseries will have a total of 6 episodes and each will be 60 minutes long.

Date of publication

Dune: The Prophecy arrives on the streaming platform HBO Max in November, but the distributor hasn’t announced an exact release date. It is not yet clear whether the series will have a Czech dubbing. At least Czech subtitles are a certainty.
