EA Sports FC 25 New Features
The newly announced EA Sports FC 25 finally leaves Volta mode behind in favor of a new mode called Rush, which pits two teams of five players against each other on a suitably sized 63.7×46.7 meter pitch.
The 5v5 Rush mode retains all of the gameplay mechanics of the regular 11v11 mode in terms of depth and balance of defense, attack, dribbling, shooting, etc. Rush is a social, accessible mode with four humans (and an AI-controlled goalkeeper) controlling one player on each team. This allows players to spend much more time with the ball, and due to the smaller team size, every movement on the pitch is more important. Positioning is also fully dynamic.
While Rush’s core mechanics are the same as regular matches, the developers have still chosen to make a few key changes to spice up the experience. For example, players run towards the ball in Rocket League style on kick-offs, rather than continuing play after the other team scores, as in real football. The offside line starts in the attacking third rather than the team’s scrum-half to accommodate different pitch and team sizes.
Another interesting thing is the addition of blue cards. This has long been discussed in real sports, although FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed earlier this year that the idea had finally been shelved. The concept has essentially been borrowed from other sports, and instead of a final red card that sends a player off the pitch, a blue card is a limited-time ban, like you might see in hockey or water polo. It currently lasts for 1 minute. A standard Rush match lasts for 8 minutes. Finally, the penalty has been turned into a 1v1 battle reminiscent of the old US-style penalty shootout, where the defending team’s captain briefly checks the goalkeeper.
A rework of tactical fundamentals across the game delivers greater strategic control and more realistic collective action at the team level. FC IQ uses a new AI model powered by real-world data to influence player tactics through all-new Player Roles.
With Ultimate Team, one of the game’s most popular features, you can choose your favorite Player Item and team up with your friends in 5v5 Rush matches. Using Manager Items, you can change your playstyle with a single click of a button and find the perfect synergy between your Player Items for specific Player Roles.
In EA SPORTS FC 25, you’ll experience unrivalled authenticity with the most authentic experience of football’s biggest competitions, clubs and stars, with over 19,000 players across 700 teams, across over 120 stadiums and 30 leagues. The game is the only place where you can play the iconic UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, Bundesliga and LALIGA EA SPORTS in the same game, plus the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Barclays Women’s Super League, National Women’s Football League, D1 Arkema, Liga F and Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga.
In terms of visuals, EA is bringing ray tracing to the FC series for the first time in the enhanced visuals mode. You can opt for resolution instead, but the game will aim for 60 frames per second in both modes. You’ll also be able to view targets in first-person in replays. There’s also a new user interface designed to be more accessible.
EA Sports FC 25 Release Date
The game will be released on September 27, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will be available as a Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition on all platforms. pre order the process has also begun.
