The Finnish Navy reported on January 5 that a Swedish submarine rescue vessel was assisting the Finns in underwater operations.
The anchor is now in the possession of the Finnish authorities, and will immediately begin to be thoroughly examined.
According to Yle, the anchor was found at great depths, up to 80 meters. Information about the exact location is not distributed.
The Central Criminal Police suspects that the Estlink 2 electrical cable between Finland and Estonia was cut by the anchor and four communication cables were also damaged. Police suspect eight crew members of the Eagle S of committing serious acts of vandalism and serious telecommunications violations.
