An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 occurred on Friday afternoon, January 10, at 15:49 local time, in the Vrancea seismic zone, Prahova county, according to information published by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 136.8 kilometers (km), near the following cities: 49 km north of Ploiesti, 51 km southeast of Brașov, 60 km northwest of Buzău, 60 km southeast of Sfântu- Gheorghe, 74 km northeast of Târgoviște and 88 km southwest of Focșani.
Since the beginning of January, six earthquakes with magnitudes between 2.4 and 3.4 have occurred in Romania.
The most important earthquake of 2024, with a magnitude of 5.4, occurred in Buzau County on September 16.
