On Friday evening, Bundesliga football club Eintracht Frankfurt completed its next summer transfer: Rasmus Kristensen is joining the Hesse club on loan from Leeds United. The signing of the Dane could have immediate consequences for other Eintracht players.
Kristensen was signed by the Frankfurt club officials as a classic right-back. Aurelio Buta and Junior Dina Ebimbe also played in this position last season.
According to information from “Sky”, Eintracht is now aiming to sell one of the two in the current transfer window. Either as a permanent transfer or, as in the case of Rasmus Kristensen, as a loan deal.
The 23-year-old Ebimbe was signed by Paris Saint-Germain last summer and has a current contract with SGE until 2027. Aurelio Buta, on the other hand, joined the Hessians from Antwerp on a free transfer in 2022 and is contractually bound to the club until 2026.
Both SGE players were not able to fully convince on the right wing in the past season, which is why the Frankfurt squad planners have now added Kristensen, who has played for Denmark 21 times.
Eintracht probably has a 15 million euro purchase option for Kristensen
According to “Sky”, it is currently the 27-year-old Buta that the Frankfurt bosses still want to sell. Where the Portuguese might end up is still completely open.
Rasmus Kristensen was loaned for one year from English second division club Leeds United on Friday evening. Central defender Robin Koch also moved from Leeds to the Main metropolis last summer.
Frankfurt are said to have secured a purchase option worth around 15 million euros. The 27-year-old was in the Danish national team squad for the European Championships in Germany, but did not play any games.
