As expected, the E-408 does not make any design changes compared to the standard 408 (except for the markings and wheels), following the differences between the Peugeot 308 and the E-308.

Like the E-308, the new E-408 is based on the EMP2 corporate platform. The electric motor in the Peugeot E-408 has 157 kW/210 HP and 345 Nm, while the battery with a net capacity of 58.2 kWh is sufficient for a range of up to 453 km. The factory states that charging 20-80% capacity on a fast charger takes about 30 minutes.

At 469 cm, the E-408 is about 33 cm longer than the E-308, 5 cm higher, and at 279 cm the wheelbase is also longer than the E-308 (268 cm). The range of 453 km is also greater than that of the E-308 (419 km).

With 471-1545 liters, the trunk of the E-408 is larger than that of the E-308 (361-1271 liters).

Inside is the Peugeot i-Cockpit with a 10-inch instrument display and an equally large touchscreen. The latter is powered by TomTom’s navigation system. To calculate the ideal route, the system takes into account route length, battery charge level, speed, energy consumption, traffic, road type, altitude and of course available charging stations. The system also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and it is possible to connect two phones simultaneously via Bluetooth. There are also four USB-C ports.

The GT package also has Matrix-LED headlights, a front parking buzzer, an interior with aluminum details and the “Drive Assist Plus” package for semi-autonomous driving.

Prices have not been announced yet. The new model completes the range of electric vehicles in the Peugeot range, which now includes twelve electric cars and light commercial vehicles.
