SARAJEVO – Gross electricity production in BiH in May was 1,072 gigawatt-hours, which is 24.08 percent less than in the same month last year, and 5.61 percent less than in April.
In the total gross production, hydropower plants participated with 27 percent, thermal power plants with 67.8 percent, and solar and wind power plants with 5.2 percent, announced the BiH Statistics Agency.
The gross production of hydropower plants in May was 290 gigawatt-hours, which is 60.17 percent less than in the same month last year, and 15.94 percent less than in April.
When it comes to the gross production of thermal power plants in May, it amounted to 726 gigawatt-hours, which is 14.33 percent more than in May last year, and 17.47 percent more than in April.
The gross production of solar and wind power plants in May amounted to 56 gigawatt-hours and is higher by 16.67 percent compared to the same month in 2023, and higher by 7.7 percent compared to the previous month.
