Of course, he did it all on his favorite platform, X.
Recently, Elon Musk had a sharp criticism of the world’s most popular free encyclopedia, Wikipedia. In his X post, he referred to the site as “Wokepedia” while urging his followers to boycott and not donate to Wikipedia until its editorial stance became more balanced.
Musk’s comments came in response to the Wikimedia Foundation’s (WMF) recently released budget for the fiscal year, which included goals such as “equity” and “safety and inclusion.”
The multi-billionaire businessman accused the encyclopedia of unfairly portraying conservative figures in a more negative light than liberals – apparently citing the Manhattan Institute for his studywhich found a strong political bias in some Wikipedia articles.
The boycott caused divisive reactions: some supported Musk’s statements, while others donated to Wikipedia to voice their dissent. However, the majority of commenters defended Wikipedia, citing it as an invaluable resource.

As a matter of fact, this is not the first time that Musk has attacked Wikipedia. In October 2023, for example, the page’s fundraising appeal was suspended, in connection with which he asked the question why the WMF, which manages the platform, needed so much money. With this, Musk hinted that the accumulated resources will certainly not be used to operate Wikipedia.
