In addition to using the “viral drag race” video to use these drivers as an example of what not to do, Fairfax County police posted a video on their social media titled: “Fast Cars + Lack of Common Sense = fines and charges”, in which you can see how each of these two drivers were arrested.

In the comments section, the police account asked for help “to find the person who, standing in the middle of the street, signaled for the drivers to start.” At the moment, ‘the flagman’ has not yet been located or fined. In Fairfax, a ticket for illegal street racing is classified as “a class 1 misdemeanor.”

Depending on the severity and whether or not anyone was injured during the race, the court can impose a year behind bars for each driver and a fine of $2,500 (about 2,350 euros at the exchange rate). The county can also revoke the driver’s license for up to two years, and even seize and confiscate the vehicle.
