Over the course of the year, the billionaire’s airliners made 355 flights, 31 of them to Palm Beach International Airport, located about eight kilometers from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, and back. However, it is unknown whether Musk was on each of these flights and whether he could have flown to Palm Beach for reasons other than meetings with a politician, the publication noted.
25 of the 31 flights to Palm Beach took place after Trump won the presidential election, and the remaining flights took place between February and March, JetSpy data shows. Business Insider writes that Musk was photographed with Trump several times at Mar-a-Lago, including at Thanksgiving dinner.
The entrepreneur’s two planes burned about $2.5 million worth of fuel in a year and also emitted about 4 thousand tons of carbon dioxide. According to the International Energy Agency, this is about 250 times more than the average US person emits into the atmosphere in a lifetime.
