Emergencies register 1,900 calls about people missing by DANA

At the meeting held today by the Emergency Coordination Center, CECOPI, the information was put on the table that there are 1,900 calls from people looking for people missing because of DANA. The document, which are the notes taken by the Valencia City Council, advanced by eldiario.es and confirmed by this newspaper, makes it clear that until today there were 2,500 calls for missing people but that they had been reduced to 600. These are people who have located relatives and have communicated it.

The figure does not mean that these missing people are dead, but the data, four days after the DANA that devastated Valencia, invites pessimism, as it indicates that the official figure of 202 deaths may increase significantly. In fact, the document explains that since the tragedy began, 75,000 calls have been handled at 112. But what is significant, according to CECOPI sources, is that at this point there are so many missing person calls left to be resolved.

The text specifies that 124 autopsies have been performed and 17 bodies have been identified

All administrations, Civil Protection and State security forces participate in CECOPI. The Civil Guard explained at today’s meeting that there are already more than 200 bodies located and that there are 70 not recovered from the site. These sources do not specify whether these 70 should now be added to the 202, which is the figure provided by CECOPI this morning. La Benemérita also states that there are 138 bodies in the warehouses of the City of Justice, that 124 autopsies have been performed and 17 bodies have been identified.
