JPMorgan Chase, the largest US bank, is preparing to ask employees to return to the office entirely, ending the option of hybrid working. Big names on Wall Street have taken this decision since last year, Ziarul Financiar reports.
JPMorgan Chase & Co is preparing to require all employees to return to the office five days a week, ending the hybrid work option and returning to the policy that was in place before the pandemic, writes the FT.
The largest US bank, which employs more than 300,000 people globally, is set to announce the change in the coming weeks, replacing the existing three-day-a-week office policy for many of its employees.
To be present at the office five days a week
The decision would extend existing rules, announced in April 2023, which require chief executives to be in the office five days a week. About 60% of the bank’s employees, including many traders and bank branch workers, already operate under this requirement.
Wall Street firms have adopted different policies on working from home as industry leaders have different views on remote or hybrid work.
Goldman Sachs required staff to be in the office five days a week as early as 2023, while Citigroup maintained a hybrid work policy with 3 days of physical presence in the office.
