The website “Onlayninspektsiya.rf” contains appeals from employees from Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Ryazan and other cities. The salary delay period ranges from two weeks to four months.
The book retailer itself does not explain the delays, and if the employee does not agree with the conditions, they offer to resign at their own request, as noted in the employees’ appeals. At the same time, after dismissal, the company also does not fully pay wages and compensation for unused vacation days.
Employees of the Knizhny Labirint retail chain (part of Labirint) are also forced to quit due to salary delays of up to six months, two employees told the publication. According to one of them, the company explains the situation by temporary difficulties that began about a year and a half ago.
The total number of employees who left Labyrinth could reach 1,000 people: some of them were laid off, others left the company of their own accord, said a top manager of a large book publishing house.
Labyrinth has accumulated a multi-million ruble debt to the publishing houses of the Eksmo AST group; at the end of May 2024, the latter stopped shipping books to the chain. The book chain’s debt to the Eksmo AST publishing group is “several hundred million rubles.”
