The energy transition is underway, but not all families can access renewable energy. The so-called energy income is provided to households with a low ISEE who request it, capable of encouraging the transition to solar. But to obtain it you need to meet some requirements, which will allow you to apply online as soon as the platform is created.
For some time now, the energy transition has been a concept on everyone’s lips: but with it, here in Italy, the energy incomean economic aid to encourage the transition to renewable energy. The Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has in fact established that there will be a bonus for disadvantaged families.
In fact, if you fall within a specific ISEE range and meet some requirements, you will be able to apply for energy income, aimed at installing domestic photovoltaic panels. The objective is to support and speed up the abandonment of non-renewable energy sources, in favor of clean ones.
The MASE decree, which is dated 8 November 2023, reports the methods of accessing this fund of 200 million euros for the two-year period 2024-2025, also giving information on who can request it. It should be noted that the application platform has not yet been created. But in the meantime you can understand which documentation to present.
The economic bonus falls into the category of capital contributions, non-repayable loans which therefore do not require the repayment of the sum or the payment of interest. It is a good relief from the government for those families who, in adverse circumstances, would not be able to afford these energy optimization costs.
What is energy income
Energy income, as mentioned, is an economic aid for families in difficulty, in order to make access to renewable energy sources easier. The objective of MASE was in fact to establish this fund to make the energy transition more sustainable for everyone. In this way, even households with low ISEE will not be left out of the modernization processes.
But energy income is not only useful for promoting a certain homogeneity in the transition to self-consumption solar for all segments of the population. In fact, it also aims to reduce bill costs for disadvantaged families, as the use of photovoltaics would make utility costs lighter.
Who is it for?
There are four requirementsone of which belongs to a specific ISEE bracket, which makes them compatible with energy income, in detail:
- have an ISEE income of less than 15,000 euros per year or 30,000 euros per year in the case of large families, i.e. with a number of dependent children equal to or greater than 4
- design residential photovoltaic systems that have a nominal power of no less than two kilowatts and no more than six
- the systems, for which the decree allocates a capital contribution, must be built on roofs and surfaces, areas and appurtenances for which the beneficiary is the holder of a valid real right
- the systems must comply with the technical requirements defined by the Fund regulation, published by ARERA by early December 2023
The energy income, as it has been set up, requires that 80% of the fund be disbursed in regions of Central and Southern Italy, such as Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, plus the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. The remaining 20% will be paid in the remaining regions and autonomous provinces.
How to request it
The Energy Services Manager has not yet set up the online platform on which applications must be submitted. But it’s easy to think that a digital identity login is required to upload the documentation. If we do not yet have the ISEE, we will have to go to a patronage to calculate and print this indicator.
On the contrary, to know the actual technical requirements of the solar systems that fall within the financing, one must view the ARERA document, scheduled for December 2023. The bonus will be valid for the two-year period 2024-2025 and had already been prepared with the last Budget Law .
