Engineering Arsenal Receives Accessibility Award

Daugavpils Centre for Technology and Industrial Design received a badge of honour for the accessibility of the environment for people with disabilities. Daugavpils City Council deputy and accessible environment activist Dmitry Valainis chose the Engineering Arsenal as the first location for the “Place Where They Wait” campaign.

During the restoration of the Engineering Arsenal, a detailed plan was developed to make the building accessible to people with disabilities. Now anyone in a wheelchair or with other mobility aids can easily use the ramps, elevator and separate toilet. We remind you that visiting the center for people with I and II disability groups is free.

To obtain such a sticker, any institution or company caring for people with reduced mobility can contact the Daugavpils Tourism Information Centre by calling 26444810 or writing to turisms@daugavpils.lv.
