New methodologies for the formation of electricity prices for customers on commercial supply were adopted by the Assembly of the Joint Stock Company “Elektroprivreda Srbije”, with the aim of establishing prices that meet the unique needs of commercial customers of EPS while maintaining financial integrity and business sustainability.

The new way of pricing the economy ensures that prices reflect current market conditions, while providing stability and predictability for customers.

According to Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Minister of Mining and Energy and representative of the founders in the Assembly of EPS AD, by adopting the methodologies, Serbia fulfilled the last structural benchmark of the International Monetary Fund for Energy.

The minister added that the new methodologies give room to monitor market movements in both directions, both in the case of falls and price jumps. In addition, the new methodology will contribute to more efficient contracting of electricity supply with customers on the open market under competitive conditions, taking into account criteria such as the lowest price of electricity, payment term and security of supply.

As stated on the EPS website, methodologies were adopted for the education of fixed prices and prices with leveling for the complete supply of electricity to end customers, which is carried out according to market principles, as well as the methodology for forming prices for the supply of end customers under a contract with a predetermined quantity . Then, the methodology for the education of the final price with dynamic pricing for the complete supply of electricity to end customers, the methodology for the education of the sales price of electricity produced from renewable sources for the supply of end customers and the methodology for the education of the price for the delivered electricity from the buyer – producer under the contract of full supply with net calculation.

The flexibility of contracting brought by these methodologies will also contribute to a more diverse offer, which, as the minister explains, will result in the improvement of energy efficiency and competitiveness of the Serbian economy, due to the possibility of optimizing electricity costs in final products.
