EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal, a landmark educational program with a free streaming platform, is coming to Serbia this fall, bringing top European films focused on the environment, water and sustainability.
The project specifically aims to overcome the environmental challenges faced by young people, promote green habits and encourage a healthier, more sustainable way of life. It features a completely new streaming platform with an expanded repertoire of films available without registration in 12 partner European countries.
After two successful years of education and raising awareness of environmental and sustainability issues among young people in Austria, Croatia, North Macedonia, Romania and Slovenia, EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal has been expanded to new partner countries: Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Montenegro, Ukraine and South Tyrol (Italy).
“An intact ecological and social environment is essential for a fulfilling life and successful economic activity. Sustainability must therefore be in the interest of all of us when dealing with climate change, which is progressing. Initiatives such as ‘EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal’ make an important contribution to spreading knowledge and raising awareness about the EU’s climate strategy. We are happy to support this project, especially since sustainability is an integral part of our business model”explains Hartvig Loger, CEO of the Vienna Insurance Group, one of the project’s partners.
Access for teachers
With its multicultural approach and innovative streaming platform, the project significantly contributes to the appreciation and understanding of the EU’s climate strategy and boasts a carefully selected collection of over 50 European films. Teachers and educators from 12 countries can now register their classes or groups of young people for free to access the platform with films, cinema screenings and didactic materials in their national languages.
