A European Commission estimates that inflation in the Eurozone will fall to 2.1% next year, still remaining above the reference value from the European Central Bank (ECB) for price stability (2%).
Nas Autumn Predictionsreleased this Friday, November 15th, the European Commission estimates that inflation in the Eurozone (measured by the harmonized consumer price index) will fall to 2.4% this year and again to 2.1% in 2025.
Only in 2026 will inflation be below 2%but very close. According to Brussels’ calculations, it would drop to 1.9% that year.
The estimate for this year is revised slightly downwards (0.1 percentage points) compared to the latest forecastspublished in the spring. At the time, Brussels expected inflation to fall to 2.5%.
However, the inflation estimate for 2025 remains at 2.1%.
