From September 16 to 22 is the European Week of Sustainable Mobility which this year has as its motto ‘Combine and move. Share the public space!’. Martorell City Council has prepared different events throughout these days in order to promote safer, healthier and respectful mobility habits with our environment.
The program starts on Monday, September 16, with the premiere of the new 100% electric urban bus service. Martorell will be the first municipality in the Baix Llobregat with urban public transport free of polluting emissions, assures Lluís Sagarra, councilor for Citizen Security and Mobility.
The old L1 and L2 bus lines will be unified into a single, more efficient Urban Line (LU) and there will be a bus every half hour that will connect all the neighborhoods of the town, twice as often as before.
On Tuesday, September 17, a visit will be made to the new charging point for electric vehicles that has been located on Avinguda del Congost, adds the councilor. It is a semi-rapid charging point with two spaces for plug-in hybrids and the thirteenth to be installed in Martorell. See the map of charging points.

At the Esplais de Gent Gran on Thursday, September 19, there will be one informative talk about the new urban bus service in charge of the councilor Lluís Sagarra. At 17.00h, it will be held at the Esplai de Buenos Aires (Av. Fèlix Duran i Canyameres, 5) and at 18.15h, at the Esplayi Municipal Gent Gran La Vila (C/ del Mur, 2).
All members of the municipal government team will make an institutional visit to SEAT on Friday 20 September, at 10.30am.
Saturday 21 September, from 17.00 to 20.00h, a Family Activities Day is organized in the Parc de la Sínia. There will be the AMTU family gym “Adventure with Sustainable Mobility”.
It is a game where teams will participate. At each point or stage a question will be posed, and two or more possible answers will be given, but only the correct one will advance you. All questions will be related to sustainable mobility. At the end of the game, the teams will have to hand in a card with the route they have taken and they will get a gift.
There will also be a Local Police tent, another one from the City Council with information about the new bus service and also the FPCAT-UPC Sustainable Mobility Campus, in addition to the five-inch train from the Amics del Ferrocarril of Martorell
