Eurosport’s Olympic Games commentator fired on the spot for sexist remark

Eurosport’s Olympic Games commentator has been fired after making a sexist remark during the live broadcast.

All events held during the Olympic Games in Paris are broadcast on the Max streaming platform.

The commentator from Eurosport who had a sexist slip live, has been fired

Swimmers Mollie O’Callaghan, Shayna Jack, Emma McKeon and Meg Harris toured the Arena Defense, in Paris, with gold medals around their necks, and the athletes’ moment of glory was overshadowed by a sexist comment of the commentator from Eurosport, Bob Ballard, station that broadcast the sports competition.

“Well, the women just finished. You know how women are… they sit, they talk, they put on makeup,” said event commentator Bob Ballard while on the air.

Following the sexist slip that angered all sports lovers, commentator Bob Ballard was fired. The decision was announced even by the representatives of the TV station.

“During a telecast, Bob Ballard made an inappropriate comment. As a result, he has been excluded from our commentary team with immediate effect,” said a statement issued by Eurosport.

The awkward moment at the end of the relay race was picked up by other publications, which highlighted Bob Ballard’s out of place attitude.

“A veteran sports commentator has been kicked off the team covering the Olympics after making sexist remarks about Australia’s gold medal-winning relay swimmers.

The clip quickly went viral, and Eurosport announced that the journalist had been removed from the list of Olympic commentators. Ballard has yet to make any public comments related to his remarks,” the journalists wrote BBC.
