Eva Longoria: Her wellness routine before turning 50

Eva Longoria isn’t “afraid of aging,” but she’d rather “age well.”

At her cover for Marie Claire published on Wednesday, the 49-year-old actress revealed that she is preparing to turn 50, the way “some people train for extreme sports.”

The “Desperate Housewives” star — who uses red light therapy like Halle Berry — incorporates cold immersion into her routine. She also wakes up at sunrise to benefit her internal clock and stays in shape by weight training.

“I do everything,” Longoria shared. “Not because I don’t want to grow old, but because I want to grow old.” Her routine also includes spiritual and mental health practices such as journaling, meditation and grounding work.

“I have an Oura ring to monitor deep sleep. I take magnesium and other supplements,” she explained.

“For me, age is just a number”

The mother of one confessed that is really looking forward to turning 50, saying women like Gwyneth Paltrow , 52, and Jennifer Lopez , 55, are “beacons” for her.

“To me, age is just a number, but I’m excited,” Longoria commented. “I refuse to believe that my greatest success is behind me.”

In one video also shared by the magazine on WednesdayLongoria said she’s interested in “bio hacks” to make her “last longer.”

“I just want to age well,” he explained. “I want to be able to go upstairs, I want to be able to get up and down, I want to be able to play with my kids, so I’m into biohacks that will make me last longer.”

Longoria even admitted that she has “full gray” hair, saying that coloring her hair is part of her wellness routine.

“Every time I color my hair I feel like a new woman”he said. “There’s something about changing your hair color that changes everything about you.”

When it comes to aging in Hollywood, the actress said she admires other ladies in the industry who approach the subject with grace.

“There are a lot of women I look up to who are doing well,” she said.
