Even from space you can see the catastrophic flooding in Valencia –

Satellite images show the extent of the mudslide sweeping across the Spanish city.

The Spanish Meteorological Service recently issued a red alert for parts of Catalonia due to heavy rain. A weather front that arrived at the end of October caused significant flooding that reached much of the country. At least 214 people have died in the floods in Spain, but many are still being searched for, so this number could rise further.

One of the most severely affected areas is the Valencia area, where more than a year’s worth of rain fell in less than half a day. Many people were trapped in underground garages and tunnels, and the parking lot of the Aldaia shopping center in the suburbs was also flooded, so many people could not leave the site.

In Khiva, 50 centimeters of rain fell in just 8 hours. As a result of the heavy rainfall, the Túria, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea, swelled, as a result of which the streets of Valencia’s suburbs were flooded with sediment-contaminated, muddy water. Currently, thousands of soldiers and even more volunteers are working in the area to mitigate the damage.

The enormous destruction is already clearly visible on satellite images.
