Kudos to the boxers from Serbia!

After great success at the European Boxing Championship for seniors in Belgrade, the Serbian national team won a total of seven medals at the European Championship for junior seniors.

The best boxing championship Sara Ćirković (54kg) and Kristina Nađ Varga won gold medals and thus once again became European champions, this time in the women’s competition of younger seniors.

Our young and golden star of the ring, Sara Ćirković, convincingly defeated Mekki Loren (England) in the final after a unanimous decision of the judges, while Nađ Varga beat Turkey’s Alejna Demirkir after a stoppage that followed due to a clash of heads.

Kristina Kuluhova (63kg) did not manage to reach the gold medal, but achieved great success. In the final, she was defeated by the Englishwoman Saša Hickey with a score of 5:0 and won the silver medal.

The men’s selection won four bronze medals, they went to Omer Ametović (51kg), Sejdi Nazif (63.5), Almir Memic (75kg) and Ahmed Mavrić (80kg).

Omer Ametović was defeated by Nihat Husejnov after a unanimous decision of the judges. Nazif did not reach the final after he lost to England’s Patrice Mughalzai by split decision.

Memic did not manage to continue his journey to the gold medal as he lost the fight against the Bulgarian Vilijam Colov with a score of 5:0. Mavrić, who was defeated by Murad Alahverdijev (Azerbaijan), had a similar experience.
