The light festival, which started before Christmas and has become an annual tradition, will continue until January 5 in the Botanical Garden of the University of Riga in Riga Winter mischief. This time, inspired by optimistic Latvian pop music, the lighting artists have created thirty installations of lights, lasers, projections and multimedia techniques dedicated to the theme Flower stories. This year, more than ever, the creators of the light festival intend to give joy and conjure colorful worlds of flowers to make everyone happy in the dark. Similar to before, several objects are interactive – this time guests of the Botanical Garden can use the flower magic wands that every light festival visitor receives for the duration of the visit. This event offers an opportunity to feel the Christmas spirit in the fresh air in a wonderfully decorated natural landscape, especially suitable for families with children and anyone who likes to enjoy the beauty of nature. Thousands of small lights twinkle on the path, illuminating the trees and bushes and creating a magical winter mood. The walk leads through points decorated with light, where visitors are waiting for warm and creative tasks. On the other hand, in Riga Zoo until January 5 and then from January 9 to 11, the traditional Winter nightswhen you can visit the animals and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in the dark hours of the day. The zoo ticket office is open until 20.00, but you can walk until 21.00 Indoor exhibitions are open from 11.00 to 20.30. This year, the Winter Nights are also especially loud.
