On Friday 13/9 (the eve of the Cross), in the historic village of Kaletzi Marathon (Vothon), the first event of a series of events will take place in order to collect money for the reconstruction of the village in which only the houses and human lives have been saved, life… the other, which belongs to all of Greece and which consisted of rich vegetation, priceless gorges, Byzantine monuments, animal kingdom and landscapes of shocking beauty, has been completely burned and destroyed and the inhabitants who survived, surrounded by the fire, clearly they owe it to the superhuman efforts of those who stayed and did not evacuate as was the state order.

But above all they owe it to Agia Paraskevi of Kaletzio, the miracle-working and miraculously saved its 500-year-old majestic plane trees and its Byzantine chapel.
For these plane trees and the surrounding area, the first event is held to protect the area with fire safety, tanks, taps, generators and tree planting.
Great artists such as Nikos Tzoumas, Efterpi Limnaiou, excellent musicians such as Valantis Bekos, Petros Kapsopoulos, Yiannis Bousoulas, Yiannis Moschonas and as a guest the great artist Kostas Pavlidis, who will come to the village to sing and play so that #ΝΑΝΤΙΣΕΙ_ΝΑΝΑ_ΤΟ_KALETZI” which is the slogan now, the most beautiful and historic village of Attica with legends, serious resistance in World War II, where legendary rebels found food and shelter, recorded in our popular tradition miracles of Agia Paraskevi, unique energy , unbeatable climate and insurmountable beauty that will happen again on the Lake that feeds Athens and next to the shores of Marathon where world history and evolution were judged!

Also great gastronomy from the two best taverns in Attica, Argentina Restaurant & Matambre, the best honey from Dimitris Mexis (Vothonos Farm Apiary) and the most delicious dairy products from the Mylonas and Totomi families!!
The residents united wish to build the model village in Greece, autonomous in everything respecting their heroes ancestors and the history of their place but also the future of the children of Greece which belongs to them equally!!!
(The financial management of ALL revenues will be unanimously undertaken by the village in terms of the restoration of the damages and the priorities that will be given. The life of the village is everyone’s business and we hope that this example will be followed by the whole of Greece, to save our villages and thus we will protect our Motherland)
