Everything OK! Competition agrees to purchase of Nowo by Digi

It was at the beginning of August that it became known that Nowo was going to be purchased by Digi. Romanian telecommunications operator DIGI announced at the time an agreement to buy operator Nowo for 150 million euros. However, only now has the Competition Authority authorized the deal.

DIGI should launch the first services in the country by November

The Competition Authority has already approved the purchase of Nowo by Digi. With this approval, which did not involve the imposition of medicines, the purchase valued at 150 million euros is completed, according to the business newspaper. It should be noted that in addition to the Competition Authority, as well as the media (ERC) and telecommunications (ANACOM) regulators, had already given the OK for this acquisition.

According to Anatel, the first DIGI services should be launched in the country by November. The AdC says that the imminent entry of the Romanian operator “has already triggered, on the part of other operators, the implementation of defense strategies”. For example, secondary brands may appear with lower prices than the main one.

DIGI is a telecommunications company with roots in Romania that operates mainly in Europe, offering mobile communications, Internet and TV services. The company is known for providing cost-effective telecommunications services, often with competitive prices and attractive packages for its customers.
