Ewan McGregor reveals this dream for the continuation of the Star Wars series

A few weeks ago, we shared with you this moving statement from Hayden Christensen to Ewan McGregor, the two actors being known mainly for their respective roles of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars saga. And more recently, it was McGregor who spoke, notably giving some information on the potential sequel to the series dedicated to his cult character.

A season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi planned? McGregor is still up for it

Among the most iconic science fiction franchises in cinema history, the Star Wars saga is certainly one of the most popular around the world. The universe imagined by the now famous George Lucas gave birth to an incredible franchisewhich continues to be developed today through different formats, whether books, video games, films or even series.

And precisely, speaking of series, the latter struggle to achieve unanimous support among fans. If some like The Mandalorian have succeeded in seducing the public, the majority of Lucasfilm and Disney series are often the subject of criticism, the latest being The Acolyte. We could then think that if these new projects fail to attract spectators, it is partly because they generally highlight new characters, and therefore unknown to the public.

Unfortunately, the case ofObi-Wan Kenobi contradicts this theory. Because the famous Jedi Master from the prelogy was entitled to his own series in 2022, marking the return of Ewan McGregor in the title role, as well as that of Hayden Christensen in that of Darth Vader. However, the Star Wars miniseries failed to win everyone over.

But despite the criticism, McGregor is still up for a sequel, and it is precisely on this subject that the actor recently spoke. Indeed, as reported on X (formerly Twitter), it was during the Los Angeles Comic-Con which was held this weekend that the actor reportedly revealed that they were “exploring” ideas for a season 2 ofObi-Wan Kenobi.

McGregor also stated that he wanted to wear the clone armor that his character has in The Clone Warsbut also that he wanted to have more flashbacks with Hayden Christensen.

For the moment, neither Disney nor Lucasfilm have confirmed that a second season ofObi-Wan Kenobi was planned, but the actor had already expressed interest in returning to the franchise several times this year.
