VfB Stuttgart is struggling with some injury concerns this season – especially offensively. Due to the weeks-long absences of Deniz Undav and El Bilal Touré, the Swabians may have to become active on the transfer market in the winter. The runner-up is apparently once again interested in a former BVB talent.
The Danish portal “bold.dk” had already reported in the summer that Jacob Bruun Larsen from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim was on VfB Stuttgart’s radar. At that time, the offensive player was considered a potential successor to Chris Führich in the country.
Now the Denmark international, who wore the Borussia Dortmund jersey for around four and a half years, could once again become an issue for the Swabians, where he already spent the second half of the 2017/2018 season on loan. The “kicker” reports on VfB’s interest.
VfB Stuttgart has several names on the list
With Jamie Leweling, Deniz Undav and El Bilal Touré, the Bundesliga club does not have three regular players available for the offensive. The failures revealed that VfB Stuttgart, which is competing in three weddings at the same time this season, is not broad enough.
Bruun Larsen, who is under contract in Kraichgau until the end of June 2025, could now provide a remedy. The 26-year-old is one of several names on the list of possible replacements for Touré, according to the specialist magazine’s report. Sebastian Hoeneß and the Dane know each other from their time together in Sinsheim.
In 2020, TSG Hoffenheim put around twelve million euros on the table to get the seven-time international player away from BVB. Since then, the left winger has played 69 competitive games in all competitions for Kraichgauer. In these twelve games, Bruun Larsen scored seven goals and added five more.
