Exciting development for Turkey’s 5th generation fighter jet KAAN

Preparations are continuing for the national combat aircraft KAAN, developed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) to meet the combat aircraft needs of the Air Forces Command by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), to make its third flight by the end of this year.

STATEMENT CAME FROM TAI! EXCITING DEVELOPMENT FOR KAAN

TAI General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu stated to the AA correspondent that preparations for the third flight at KAAN are continuing and said, “The date may be a little difficult to give right now, but we plan to fly within this year.” he said.

Demiroğlu stated that the prototypes P1 and P2, which KAAN will start testing for delivery in 2028, will take the stage towards the end of 2025 and that they will begin very intensive testing with them.

– “WE DO NOT HAVE ANY DELAYS RIGHT NOW”

Demiroğlu mentioned that the tests of the P4 and P5 prototypes will be carried out in 2026 and said, “We need to do all the tests quickly with these 4-5 prototypes because the time is very short and we need to do a lot of tests. These are necessary so that we can start delivery in 2028.” he said.

“Hopefully, we will all see our KAANs in the sky at the end of 2025.” Demiroğlu stated that the work continues intensively.

Demiroğlu stated that there was no delay in their programs and said:

“Delay in development programs is natural, so it can happen. One day, 2 days, 3 days, 1 week, 2 months, these are natural, this does not count as a delay. So you are a little bit surprised by your plan. Our current plan is 2028 delivery. Whatever is needed for this is now.” “We are working within the plan. Even if it happens otherwise, we will share it, but there is no change in our plan at the moment.”
