The opponent was one of the strongest teams of the tournament – “VK Piejūra / MSĢ”, but the home team won with a score of 3:1 (22/25, 25/20, 28/26, 25/21).
This match was the final one in the first round of the tournament, and “Ezerzeme Juniors” they finished it flawlessly – six wins in six matches. Thus, the team secured first place in the Eastern Group standings, gaining 16 points. It is noteworthy that in the final match of the first round “Augšdaugava” conceded «VK Piejūra / MSG» with the score 2:3 (25/23, 14/25, 22/25, 25/17, 9/15). This result actually consolidated “Ezerzeme Juniors” as the only tournament leader in the Eastern group.
