Max Verstappen started the 2024 Formula 1 season in bomb form. With his winning streak, he also improved his winning percentage in an amazing way. At the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, he also took the lead in the comparison of active drivers, ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

However, in their case, this indicator changes from race to race depending on their success. Red Bull’s Dutchman won two races after the Imola race, as did Hamilton with Mercedes. However, in the case of the seven-time world champion, the winless races are associated with a smaller percentage deterioration, considering that he completed many more Formula 1 races than Verstappen.

If the streak between Verstappen and Red Bull continues after the autumn break, at the American Grand Prix, there will be another turn in the relationship between the two and taking into account the active drivers. Hamilton can return to the lead with a success rate of just under 30 percent – if he were to win in Austin, he would remain above 30 percent. Against him, Verstappen’s indicator would be 29.46 percent, if the three-time world champion does not win.

At the top of the list – if we don’t look at the statistics of those starting at the Indianapolis 500 – are three people with almost unattainable numbers: Jim Clark won 34.72 percent of his F1 races during his career. Two world champions from the heroic era also have a better index than him: Alberto Ascari with 40.63 percent, while Juan Manuel Fangio leads the list with 47.06 percent.
