McLaren brought one of the main themes of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix from Azerbaijan. Under heavy load on the cars of the Wokingites, the blades of one of the deflectors of the rear wing bend in a way never seen before, giving the competitors an advantage in the straight. In connection with what was seen, the International Automobile Association also issued a statement:
It is expected that nothing will be done with the matter this year, which may sting some people’s eyes, but as long as the solution is legal according to the FIA, there is nothing to talk about. Of course, Lando Norris also knows that this was not necessarily the aim of the rule makers, but the Brit hardly regrets it. “I am very happy. They do a great job. Everything has been tested, everything is legal, we do what we can. This is what Formula 1 is all about: discovering everything within the framework of the rules.”
“We passed all the tests, the FIA is also happy. I am proud. The team is pushing the limits, but that’s what you have to do if you want to fight at the top and fight with people who are also known to do similar things,” said the two-time Grand Prix winner.

According to Norris, McLaren is not the only one with such a trick up their sleeve. “A lot of other teams do it, we just don’t see it on TV. Maybe they didn’t run the race or we didn’t see certain camera angles. It’s not just us,” added the second-placed competitor in the points competition.
