Mercedes driver George Russell won today’s Formula 1 race for the Belgian Grand Prix.
After an uncertain fight with teammate Lewis Hamilton at the end of the race, Russell achieved the third victory in his career. In addition to good driving, George won thanks to good tactics, since he changed tires one more time than his competitors, he says. Sports Journal.
Seven-time world champion Hamilton took second place and it was his 201st podium finish, and third was Oscar Piastri from McLaren.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took fourth place, fifth was reigning champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull, and sixth was Lando Norris from McLaren. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz took seventh place, Sergio Perez of Red Bull was eighth, Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin was ninth, and Esteban Ocon of Alpino took 10th place.
There is a break in the Formula 1 championship, and the competition resumes on August 25 for the Dutch Grand Prix.
