JUSTICE – Published Friday, July 19 on X, the photo had provoked a wave of racist and hateful comments on social networks. In this photo, we can see four young LFI deputies sitting on a bench during the parliamentary session: Raphaël Arnault, newly elected in Vaucluse; Aly Diouara, deputy of Seine-Saint-Denis; Sébastien Delogu of Bouches-du-Rhône; and Carlos Martens Bilongo of Val-d’Oise.

Raphaël Arnault, 29 years old and known for his involvement in the anti-fascist movement the Young Guard, caption: “ RN not happy »His colleague Aly Diouara agrees: “ They don’t want us here, so here we are!

“A simple photo in the National Assembly. Hundreds, thousands of racist and hateful reactions”reacted the next day Carlos Martens Bilongo on his X account, indicating that he was addressing “a report to the Paris public prosecutor under Article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure”The tweet was then reshared by Sébastien Delogu and Raphaël Arnault.

“We will sit there proudly in the weeks and months to come.”

Aly Diouara, the last MP present in the photo, also reacted on X this Sunday, July 21. “Yes, a simple photographic snapshot has provoked tens of thousands of hateful, racist, xenophobic reactions. And you know what? The next day, we were there again (at the National Assembly, Editor’s note) and we will sit there proudly in the weeks and months to come.”he said.

Raphaël Arnault’s profile alone had already earned him a number of attacks, from of Prime Minister Gabriel Attalfrom the right and its extreme. In addition to his anti-fascist commitment, the young man was presented as ” the candidate listed S ” throughout the legislative campaign and was criticized for his statement on the Hamas attack on October 7.

Despite these various controversies, he nevertheless triumphed in the second round on July 7 against an RN candidate, partly thanks to the transfer of votes from the dissident left-wing candidate eliminated in the first round and who had lined up behind him.
