The Honda HR-V is getting an update in the European market. The facelift brings minor changes, similar to those seen on the Japanese-market variant, called the Vezel.
The manufacturer has brought the updated version of the HR-V SUV to the UK. Thus, the car enjoys the changes launched on its Japanese counterpart – Honda Vezel. The European model remains available exclusively with a full-hybrid powertrain, which develops 131 HP.
Aesthetically, not much has changed since the third-generation HR-V debuted in 2021. The biggest difference brought about by the facelift is the new front grille. The front bumper has revised air intakes, while the headlamps have darker internals and new LED graphics.
Honda has also enriched the color palette by adding three new shades. Customers will now also be able to choose Sage Green, Seabed Blue or Urban Grey.
The Honda HR-V facelift does not offer a radical transformation
Inside, the Honda HR-V still uses a digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch central screen, which runs the infotainment system. The lower part of the center console has been adjusted, providing easier access to the wireless charging stand, thus improving ergonomics. Other changes include additional soundproofing material and privacy glass as standard equipment. The SUV keeps the “magic” rear seats, which can be folded or raised, as we also see in the Honda Jazz.
The engine remained the same, being represented by a full-hybrid with 131 HP. The powertrain consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, two electric motors, a fixed-ratio transmission, and a lithium-ion battery pack. In total, this system produces 131 hp, power transmitted exclusively to the front axle.
Sales of the facelifted Honda HR-V e:HEV will begin in Europe and the UK from this September. Prices for the new model have not yet been announced.
