Days in the sign of berries… OK, you get the point

With an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters, the area of Crna Trava and Vlasina is extremely suitable for blueberry cultivation. On the slopes of the mountains in Black Grass, you can mostly find wild blueberries, but cultivated blueberry plantations are also spreading more and more.

Wild blueberries occupy large areas, with an annual yield of over 300 tons of this fruit. In addition to wild, tame blueberries are grown, which covers 50 hectares with a tendency to further expand the plantations. Over time, this fruit species became a recognizable brand of Crna Trava.

For this reason, Blueberry Days are held every year in Crna Trava, an event that started in 2014. The main goal of this event is to promote the blueberry as a symbol of Black Grass. The event takes place in the second half of July, more precisely this year on July 20 and 21, on the central square in Crna Trava. During “Blueberry Day”, visitors will have the opportunity to see a variety of homemade blueberry products, as well as traditional dishes and products of this region.
