Famous actor Praveer Mitra is no more

Prabir Mitra, the famous and veteran actor of Bangladeshi films, left the country of no return. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment in the ICU of Square Hospital in the capital on Sunday around 10:30 pm.

Khal actor Misha Saudagar shared this sad news with a post on his verified Facebook page around 10:30 pm. He wrote, ‘Prabir’s friend Dada is no more. He passed away some time ago. May God forgive him.’

It is known that Prabir Mitra was suffering from various physical complications including lack of oxygen in the body for a long time. When his physical condition deteriorated, he was admitted to the hospital on December 22. He died two weeks later.

Pravir Mitra was 83 years old at the time of his death. Many in the film industry have already expressed their grief on social media over his death.

Prabir Mitra was born on August 18, 1943 in Chandina, Comilla. But grew up in old Dhaka. His full name is Praveer Kumar Mitra. He was involved in theater since his school days. Acted in Rabindranath Tagore’s play ‘Dakghar’ as a school student.

Prabir Mitra started his journey in films by acting in the movie ‘Jalchhabi’ produced in 1969. Notable movies she has acted in include, ‘Fariad’, ‘Blood Oath’, ‘Characterless’, ‘Victory Defeat’, ‘Angar’, ‘Tita’s A River Name’, ‘Jeevan Trishna’, ‘Seyana’, ‘Jaliat’, ‘ Mintu Am Naam’, ‘Fakir Majnu Shah’, ‘Tarulata’, ‘Village Boy’, ‘Son Bride’ ‘Madhumita’, ‘tumultuous waves’, ‘ornaments’, ‘affections’, ‘promises’.

Praveer Mitra has acted powerfully in more than four hundred movies. He has always been appreciated for his aesthetic acting. Received National Film Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.
