Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., shared information on his X account that local law enforcement officers found an AK-47 gun in the bushes on the field after the incident and that a suspect was caught.
Sources who spoke to the AP said the Secret Service agent opened fire on the suspect while Trump, whom he was assigned to protect, was playing golf.

Trump emphasized in an email to his supporters that he would “never give up” and said, “Gunshots were heard all around me, but before the rumors get out of control, I want to say this: I am OK and I am safe.”
