FBI Investigating ‘Appearance of Attempted Assassination’ of Trump

The FBI made a statement on the subject. The statement said, “The FBI has arrived in West Palm Beach, Florida and is investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump.”

Former US President and Republican Party candidate for the 2024 presidential race Trump was reported safe after gunshots were heard near his location in Florida.

“President Trump is safe after gunshots were heard nearby. No further details at this time,” campaign communications director Steven Cheung said.

In a written statement from the White House, it was stated that US President Joe Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed on the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where Trump was playing golf, and that they were relieved to know that he was safe and that they would continue to receive regular information.

A suspect in connection with the incident was caught

Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., shared information on his X account that local law enforcement officers found an AK-47 gun in the bushes on the field after the incident and that a suspect was caught.

Sources who spoke to the AP said the Secret Service agent opened fire on the suspect while Trump, whom he was assigned to protect, was playing golf.

First statement from Trump

Trump emphasized in an email to his supporters that he would “never give up” and said, “Gunshots were heard all around me, but before the rumors get out of control, I want to say this: I am OK and I am safe.”

Former President Trump survived an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13 with a wound to his ear.
